My Bloody Valentine se formaron en Dublín a mediados de la década de los 80, pero pasaron, prácticamente, su corta existencia en Londres.
Con Kevin Shields a la cabeza, la banda dejó todas sus energías, toda su creatividad y todo el dinero de Creation en el parto de ‘Loveless’ (1991), un disco capital para entender el avance del rock.
Esta obra cumbre del rock de todos los tiempos, basada en una producción de trabajo de orfebre en la que las pistas de guitarra se superponían unas a otras generó una atmósfera envolvente, nunca antes escuchada, sobre la que emergían melodías susurradas de gran fragilidad. El ruido adquirió una nueva definición con ‘Loveless’, y marcó profundamente los trabajos de infinidad de bandas de shoegazing’ y noise.
